How to Assemble a Desktop Computer

Anti-static wrist strap

Computer case

Motherboard

Power supply

Processor

Thermal paste

Heat sink/fan

RAM memory cards

Hard drive and cable

Optical drive and cable

Sound card (if not built into motherboard)

Video card (if not built into motherboard)

Wi-fi card (optional)

Screwdriver set

Keyboard

Mouse

Speakers

Operating system

Monitor

1 Collect all of the parts and place on a well-lit work surface.

2 Place the anti-static wrist strap on your wrist and clip the end to an unpainted part of the computer case.

3 Open the case.

4 Mount the power supply in the case using the screws that came with the computer case. Lift the cables on the power supply away from the case interior.

5 Mount the processor to the motherboard.

6 Place a dot of thermal paste on the top of the processor before mounting
